This Schooner Bluenose II Model was specially designed & built by the plank on bulkhead method (joining multiple small pieces of wood like Rosewood, Mahogany, Teak together on the hull).

The sailboat model is built exactly to scale as the original Bluenose II was with many details. The task required skillful craftsmen hundreds of hours to accomplish.

Schooner Bluenose II Wooden Model Sailboat 38.5. The schooner Bluenose was launched in Lunenburg and has a very special place in the history of navigation and yachting. The Bluenose was the response to a Nova Scotian defeat in a race for schooners established by the Halifax Herald newspaper in 1920. During the next 17 years, the Bluenose faced no North American challengers. She was built in Nova Scotia on March 26, 1921, and shipwrecked near Haiti in 1946.
