She was built in 1906 for the Canadian Pacific Railway Co... This model is fully assembled and is 100% hand built from scratch using plank on frame construction method.

Our master craftsmen have spent more than 75 hours to finish it. This model was painted in red, white and black, the original colors. It has magnificent details which include plank decking, metal rails, multiple life boats, davits, metal stairs, painted smoked stacks, anchors, and advanced rigging. The word Empress of Ireland is shown on the hull.

The model is rested on a solid wood base with metal nameplate. The Empress of Ireland was a transatlantic ocean liner owned by the Canadian Pacific Steamship Company that sailed between Quebec City, Quebec, Canada, and Liverpool, United Kingdom. She sank on the early morning of May 29, 1914 in the St. Lawrence River after colliding with the Storstad in a disaster which claimed 1,012 lives, making it the worst maritime disaster in Canadian history.

Ready to display, not from any sort of kit. Made of finest exotic tropical wood. Hundreds of hours were required to finish this model sailboat by skillful craftsmen and artisans.

Individual wooden planks used in hull construction using plank on bulkhead method. Highly complex rigging with varied thread gauge, hundreds of blocks and deadeyes.

Figurehead, cannons, anchors, bell, propeller and other fitting made from metal and/or brass. Solid wood base and brass nameplate included. Missing and loose parts are not considered damaged or defected. We will send you extra parts with instruction.
