This high quality, highly detailed, Canoe model is Brand New, fully assembled and ready for display (not a kit). This beautiful Canadian Canoe Model is handcrafted from strips of Canadian Western Red Cedar wood.

It is then coated with an outer coat of clear fiber glass. The two seats have authentic woven rattan centers.

This Cedar-strip canoe model is completely hand built by skillful and creative master craftsmen, using a process called Strip-building which is a method of boat building commonly used for canoes and kayaks. The process involves securing narrow, flexible strips of wood edge-to-edge around temporary forms. The strips are typically secured to each other with glue or nails. The roughly covered hull is then smoothed and reinforced with fiberglass.

The inside is then smoothed and similarly reinforced. Included with this model are 2 wooden paddles and a wood stand. This model measures 44 long from bow (front) to stern (rear).

Inside the hull, we use high quality epoxy which helps the thin wooden bars to bond close to one another and not split, crack or twist even in variable climatic conditions.
