Arno Ferrari Hydroplane Racing Speed Boat 35 Wood Model Ship Assembled/Built
Up for sale is an assembled like new Hydroplane Model, as described below. It was only displayed in my office/not played with and is in excellent condition.
See the awesome detailed red Ferrari seat, with detailed cockpit and dash. Also has the Ferrari logo as seen on side of model. The number 50 is on both sides. Detailed rudder shaft and prop. Minor display wear on some of the metal parts, which probably just needs polishing.
No stand was available when I received as a gift. Very easy to display on your own stand. As pictured on side next to cockpit is says Nandodell' Orto. In 1953, Achille Castoldi decided to focus on setting top speed records.
He commissioned an 800kg-class -point hydroplane hull. To be built by Cantieri Timossi, a hydroplane builder on Lake Como near Milan. On the morning of October 15, 1953 Achille Castoldi succeeded in breaking the 800kg class speed record with an average "flying Kilometer".Two way speed of 150.49 mph. He followed up the performance later that day by setting another record in the "24 nautical miles" event.
