This is the last model that Haynie Marshall made before his death on Sept. 4, 2014 in Tylerton, Smith Island, Maryland. It is typical of the actual boats made and maintained on the island for crabbing. They are designed to hold a substantial number of crab pots and still allow for the crabber's movement. This model is very simplified.
It appears to have a metal covering tacked on the bottom. It has the engine box, shaft, rudder and propeller. Marshall was himself a waterman and from a long line of them. This is a complete original made by an actual waterman of SMITH ISLAND. It was the last one. This is a piece of history.
