As I understand it, by then, this piece was already old and wizened, having been made by an ancestor, however many generations back I didn't quite capture. I've had it in my own possession for more than half a decade now, marveling at its details, knowing that it'll take a special human to tackle this also-special project. I've hung onto tiny oars and life boats, bits and parts waiting to be securely reattached. Some are surely missing: part of the fun of a putting-things-back-together project and all.
I'm not a maritime historian (nor do I have much ability to tend to details). I suspect you'll know better than me what this is, and how much interest it might hold to a broader audience. It looks a bit like some pretty fancy boats, and it's a biggun. I want to say between 4-5' long.
I will update the listing once I've had a chance to weigh and measure the boat. I will take more detailed photos then, too (it's offsite, I'm not). Until then, I welcome questions, expertise, and feedback or, the snapping-up of a great deal, if that's what this looks like to you! I've set the listing as Local Pick-up only (in 55406 zip code).
