From my research, this model appears to be manufactured around the 1950's by the talented craftsmen at the old ITO toy company of Japan. I could not find a ITO maker plate or sticker, but the rudder does have stamped "Japan" on it. This boat is large and has some weight to it. The boat measures 18" inches in length, 21" inches to end of rudder. From center, it is 6 inches wide.
The boat height is 3" inches, and 5" inches including propellers. I attempted to load batteries into the hull and get the motors to run but without success.
I don't see any loose wires but the motor function doesn't work. Some cosmetic detail parts may be missing. There is a separate wood base with a small seat mounted on it which needs re-fitting into the boat (I've looked for similar boats during research but couldn't find an exact match, so I'm not sure the exact location for this piece).
At the back of the boat I see a seam-line and paint loss (see image close ups). The metal rudder turns and the propellers move with my fingers.
I noticed one propeller has four rotors, the other has three. This would make an amazing display for the hobbyist or maritime enthusiast! Please see images for more detail! Please message me with any questions you may have about this item, and thank you for your interest!
