Extremely Rare 1944 Varney L. S. T. Model Ship Kit in Original Box with Instructions

  

Extremely Rare 1944 Varney L. I have collected many Varney HO model trains over the years. The very first of three different kits were released in 1944 including this L. As you can see in the pictures, this is an unassembled kit. The hull and some other parts are made from wood.

There is also a small box inside with a number of plastic parts. There is a 2-sided, large format instruction sheet with photos. There is a 4-page front and back typed set of instructions, too. While this is an unassembled kit with lots of parts, I cannot assure it is a complete kit with no missing parts. I have never removed any of the parts from the box.

This is either scale 1:245 or 1:250 depending on the reference you can find online. The instruction sheet with photos is in very good condition. The 4-page typed instruction sheet is also in very good readable condition, too. The box while still solid and complete is in only fair condition with wear and tear.

The box dimensions are about 16 in x 6 in x 2 in. I have found little information about these very old Varney kits due to their rarity.
