2 New Model Ship Kits Billings Boat Roar Ege & Dusek Knarr Viking Wood Model
Wide: 14 cm wide (5-1/2) Made in Demark. Was found in 1957 in the bay at Roskilde in Denmark.
The wreck was salvaged in 1962, and after a thorough preservation it was possible to carry out a reconstruction of the vessel. The Knarrs were very robust and very well resist again unfavorable conditions in open sea. This model represents the similar Knarr which was found near the village of Skuldelev at Denmark and which is known as Skuldelev 1. The original was built in Norway between years 1030 and 1050 mainly from oak and pine.
