Ferrari Hydroplane Painted 36inches long and 14 inched wide and 9 1/2 tall. On themorning of October 15 1953 Achille Castoldi succeeded in smashing the 800kgclass speed record of 150.49 mph on this Ferrari hydroplane. Master craftsmen, handcraft this highly detailed wood models from scratch using historicalphotographs drawings and original plan.
They are built to scale with high-gradewood such as western red cedar, rosewood and mahogany. They are 100% hand builtindividually using plank-on-frame construction method and are similar to thebuilding of actual ships. Each model requires hundreds of hours to finish andmust go through a demanding quality control process before leaving theworkshop.
This is an amazing model of the Ferrari Hydroplane handcrafted fromcedar and mahogany. The hood and fin are painted in red. There are hundreds oftiny construction nails vividly showed on the hull. The dashboard has two toneswood panel installed with realistic looking stainless steel gauges.Thecockpit has a hand stitched white leather seat (which I find rare) a bigstainless steel steering wheel and copper pedals. Two large stainless steelexhausts are coming out from the V12 engine compartment one on each side. Youcan also see the shiny stainless steel ruder prop shafts and propellerunderneath the boat. The light wood trim around the boat completes thedecoration of this gorgeous model. This model is secured on a large solid woodbase. Please check out my other auctions for more treasures!
