Model Shipways Willie Bennett Chesapeake Bay Skipjack Vintage Wood Boat Model

  

For sale is a wood boat model of the Willie Bennet Chesapeake Bay style skipjack. The model was made by Model Shipways of Bogota NJ. The model is still packaged much the way it left the factory back in the mid 1980s and to the best of my knowledge it is entirely complete. The small parts are still in the sealed plastic bags.

The rubber bands around the wood member are the original factory rubber band and are very brittle. All the paperwork appears to be there. The sails are still folded as they were when the model was packaged.

I wouldnt have saved it all these years for myself if I felt it was not complete. I have come to the conclusion that I will probably never get the time to build it (the bucket list is way too long) and the more I looked at it I realize that the complexity and detail of the model is not for a first attempt at building a boat model, at least not for me (I would hate to screw it up).

Reluctantly, it needs a new home. I believe you will have to look long before you find this wood particular vintage wood boat model in this state of condition.
