America's Cup Columbia 1901 J-Yacht 37 Model. Columbia was an American racing yacht built in 1899 for the America's Cup races. She was the defender of the tenth America's Cup race that same year against British challenger Shamrock as well as the defender of the eleventh America's Cup race in 1901 against British challenger Shamrock II. She was the first vessel to win the trophy twice in a row a record not equaled until Intepid's back-to-back wins in 1967 and 1970. The tranquil simplicity of this desktop America's Cup Columbia sailing J-yacht model captures the spirit of the classic sailing vessel. The hull and mast are made with high-quality basswood and the sails are hand-sewn cotton. This model is completely hand-made by skilled craftsman and has impeccable quality and attention to detail.

The hull of the model is fully assembled; you'll just need to assemble the mast, sails and rigging. The rigging attaches with hooks (no knot tying) to simplify full assembly. Easy-to-follow instructions will be included. Large 37" length, 5" wide, and 35.5 high.
